Here is some proper safety gear for metal detecting that you should wear when you are going out to do metal detecting.

Safety gloves

The most important safety gears that you should go without when go for metal detecting. You must wear a pair of good quality safety gloves. You just can’t go without them. Just think of all the reasons why you should wear gloves; Sharp glass, sharp metal that is quite filthy. Etc. You don’t want to have a nasty cut on your hands when you are searching through the dirt for that metal coin.

Glasses

This can be either sunglasses or safety glasses. It doesn’t matter which one, as long as you is protecting your eyes. The first reason why you should protect your eyes is because you are out in the sun the whole day. The sun can be bad for your eyes if you don’t protect them.

For many years I watched as my husband took his metal detector out and found everything from coins to relics. Some were pretty cool and then some were just your normal, rusted junk that you would expect to find being dug from the earth. Oh there were the times when he was busy swinging his coil over the ground that I would just walk around and, believe it or not, I made some really nice finds of my own just laying there in plain sight. Sometimes I even did better than he did and I didn’t have a detector to use.
